It was just one win. But it meant something more.

France's women's rugby team is heading to New Zealand for the southern hemisphere leg of the WXV Global Series. Following a 21-5 victory over Canada in September, head coach Francois Ratier has prepared a revamped squad with an eye on long-term development toward the 2029 Women's Rugby World Cup in Australia.
Scrum-half Alexandra Chambon will captain the side in New Zealand. The squad faces numerous notable absences, including Pauline Bourdon Sansus for family reasons, Madoussou Fall Raclot due to pregnancy, regular captain Manae Feleu for medical studies, and multiple players missing through injury and suspension.
