Manchester United manager Michael Carrick expressed massive disappointment following a 1-1 draw against 10-man Tottenham Hotspur at Old Trafford on Saturday. Bryan Mbeumo opened the scoring for United before Tottenham's Rodrigo Bentancur was sent off in the 78th minute. However, Dominic Solanke struck an added-time equalizer to deny United the win and leave them with just six points from six matches, marking their worst league start since 1986.
Carrick addressed fan frustration after jeers were heard during the disjointed display, admitting United urgently need to move in a positive direction. Meanwhile, Spurs manager Roberto De Zerbi praised his side's courage and character for battling back after Bentancur's dismissal, moving Tottenham off the bottom of the table despite remaining winless.
