Lisandro Martinez launches a blistering attack on Manchester United's hierarchy for not strengthening the squad following qualification for the Champions League.
Manchester United defender Lisandro Martinez criticized the club's board and technical director Jason Wilcox following a 2-0 Champions League defeat against Atletico Madrid. Martinez argued that the hierarchy failed to sufficiently strengthen the squad after qualifying for the competition, insisting that the club cannot continually rely on changing managers instead of addressing squad depth.
The defeat extends United's winless run under head coach Michael Carrick to five matches in all competitions. Former United players Wayne Rooney and Ashley Young heavily criticized Martinez's public comments, warning that such public remarks could severely damage dressing-room unity.
