This proves that Liverpool are still looking for new players.
Liverpool reportedly made an enquiry during the summer regarding a permanent move for Barcelona midfielder Marc Bernal, according to Spanish outlet Sport. Multiple Premier League clubs, including Manchester United, Manchester City, and Chelsea, also reportedly registered an interest in the 19-year-old talent.
Neither Barcelona nor Bernal wished to pursue a permanent departure, leading the Catalan club to secure the midfielder under a contract running until 2031. Zak Anderton of Anfield Watch argues that Bernal remains a sensible long-term transfer solution for Liverpool's holding midfield role.
