Ridly Greig’s injury on Tuesday night was described as a strain so he was taken out of Tuesday's game as a precaution.

Ottawa Senators forward Ridly Greig suffered a strain during Tuesday's 7-2 loss against the St. Louis Blues and was removed from the game as a precaution. Head coach Travis Green confirmed the issue, leaving Greig's status uncertain ahead of Thursday's match against the New York Islanders. Greig's setback adds to an expanding injury list for Ottawa, which is already playing without forward William Eklund and regular defensemen Jake Sanderson, Artem Zub, and Nikolas Matinpalo.
The rash of injuries has forced the Senators to rely heavily on Tim Stützle, who leads the club with 11 points through seven games. If Greig faces extended absence, Ottawa may consider calling up 21-year-old forward Kasper Halttunen from AHL Belleville, though all three injured defensemen are reportedly nearing returns.
