Manchester City have been found guilty by an independent commission of clearly intending to circumvent Premier League financial rules over a nine-season period

Culture Secretary Lisa Nandy has confirmed that the UK Government will not intervene in decisions concerning Manchester City's financial charges case. Following an independent commission finding the club guilty of breaching Premier League financial rules over nine seasons, fears emerged regarding political interference. Manchester City have appealed the decision, claiming to possess irrefutable evidence of innocence.
Speaking to talkSPORT, Nandy stressed that football authorities must determine the outcome to preserve sporting integrity. She also stated that once legal processes conclude, the new Independent Football Regulator holds the power to intervene and potentially remove club owners if they are determined unfit to run the club.
