Ricky Hatton's mum has spoken out for the first time
Ricky Hatton's mother Carol has spoken about comments made by the boxer prior to an exhibition fight in Dubai. Speaking to the Mail, Carol stated that Hatton told her he felt he was being treated like a cash cow, though he did not specify who was doing so. She also said Hatton had told people he did not want to fight but was told he needed to.
Hatton's father, Ray, expressed similar concerns about the bout, believing his son was returning to the ring for the benefit of others rather than himself. The comments follow Hatton's planned comeback exhibition, which had been previously scheduled despite an earlier eye injury suffered during the announcement phase.
