Giannis Antetokounmpo is adjusting to his new lease of life with the Miami Heat. It was clear even before last season began, that the Giannis Antetokounmpo era had run its course at the Milwaukee Bucks.
Giannis Antetokounmpo praised Miami Heat teammate Davion Mitchell for his remarkable speed following Miami's 144-128 preseason victory over the Brooklyn Nets. Playing his first game in front of Miami's home crowd after being traded from the Milwaukee Bucks, Antetokounmpo called Mitchell incredible and noted how dangerous the team's pace becomes when Mitchell is running the floor.
Antetokounmpo nearly recorded a triple-double in the win, tallying 20 points, 15 rebounds, and nine assists across 24 minutes. Mitchell, who joined Erik Spoelstra's squad from the Toronto Raptors in 2025, also praised Antetokounmpo postgame, backing the former MVP to succeed in Miami.
