Viva El Birdos writer Gabe Simonds reassessed the site's 2023 top 20 St. Louis Cardinals prospect rankings by comparing his individual selections against the community vote. Simonds noted that while Jordan Walker was unanimously ranked first by both sides, shortstop Masyn Winn has retroactively proven to be the most successful prospect from that group based on performance and defense.
Simonds highlighted several notable picks and misses across the list, including pitchers Tink Hence, Gordon Graceffo, and Matthew Liberatore. He also defended earlier aggressive rankings of catcher Leonardo Bernal and outfielder Victor Scott II, while reflecting on the overall relative weakness of the Cardinals' minor-league depth back in 2023.
