The Story in 60 Seconds

Alpine driver Franco Colapinto has released a video urging his supporters to stop directing online abuse at Formula 1 drivers, colleagues, and team personnel. The 23-year-old Argentine driver warned his fanbase that attacking others under the guise of defending him is counterproductive and directly harms his career and future in the sport.

The appeal follows repeated incidents of online hostility linked to Colapinto's fanbase, including abuse aimed at former teammate Jack Doohan, FIA stewards, teammate Pierre Gasly, and McLaren driver Lando Norris. Despite the off-track issues, Alpine confirmed a one-year contract extension in August to keep Colapinto with the team through the 2027 season.
