F1's mid-October deadline for a final call on Qatar and Abu Dhabi has passed. This is the latest on the Middle East races.

Formula 1 intends to proceed with the final two races of the 2026 season in Qatar and Abu Dhabi despite a mid-October decision deadline passing without an announcement. The back-to-back events, scheduled for November 27-29 and December 4-6, have faced viability concerns due to ongoing regional conflict. F1 CEO Stefano Domenicali previously confirmed that the calendar remains set based on current assurances.
F1 has prepared a contingency plan to stage the season finale at Imola if escalating tensions prevent the races from going ahead. While team personnel acknowledge potential logistical issues caused by airspace closures and travel disruptions, sources indicate that only severe escalation would alter plans. MotoGP's visit to Qatar on November 8 is expected to provide an early indicator of regional viability.
