Aatu Räty heads to Toronto following a waiver stint, marking another chapter for the former second-round pick originally sent to Vancouver in the blockbuster Bo Horvat trade.

The Vancouver Canucks have traded forward Aatu Räty to the Toronto Maple Leafs in a permanent deal. In exchange for the former New York Islanders prospect, Vancouver acquired prospects Jacob Quilan and Brandon Buhr.
Räty, 23, was selected 52nd overall by the Islanders in 2021 before being traded to Vancouver in the 2023 Bo Horvat deal. Prior to the trade, the Finnish forward cleared waivers after recording one goal in four games this season.
