Hannah King will be in the No 10 jersey in the first of three tests against France.

Black Ferns coach Whitney Hansen revealed how unexpected injuries reversed selection plans, enabling young first five-eighths Hannah King to flourish in the No 10 jersey. Initially intended to play early tests before stepping back, King was sidelined during Super Rugby Aupiki. When co-captain Ruahei Demant suffered a calf injury, King stepped in for tests against France, Scotland, and England, earning praise from Hansen for her growing leadership and decision-making.
Demant returns to the squad this weekend against France in Hamilton, but King retains her starting position at flyhalf. Demant will provide cover from the bench as King earns her fifth consecutive start and 19th cap. Hansen has named a largely settled lineup as the Black Ferns aim to build on their 7-1 season record.
