Kendrick Perkins has been impressed by Giannis Antetokounmpo’s start with the Miami Heat, going as far as comparing his preseason play to LeBron James.
Kendrick Perkins stated that Giannis Antetokounmpo's preseason playmaking for the Miami Heat reminded him of LeBron James' time with the franchise. Antetokounmpo joined Miami during the offseason following 13 seasons with the Milwaukee Bucks, stepping into a prominent point-forward role under head coach Erik Spoelstra.
The comparison followed Antetokounmpo posting 20 points, 15 rebounds, and nine assists in Miami's 144-128 preseason victory over the Brooklyn Nets. Perkins highlighted Antetokounmpo's growth in playmaking and expressed interest in seeing this role sustained across the regular season, which begins against the Minnesota Timberwolves.
