2026 has been a tough year for Sabalenka.

Former Olympic gold medalist Monica Puig has predicted that Aryna Sabalenka will overcome her current form slump, stating she is "1000%" sure the Belarusian will recover. Speaking on the Inside-In podcast, Puig argued that Sabalenka requires a mental reset and suggested she could benefit from revisiting sports psychology after observing her growing frustrated early in matches.
Sabalenka has endured a difficult 2026 campaign, failing to win a Grand Slam and losing her world No. 1 ranking to Elena Rybakina. The world No. 2 has not secured a tournament title since winning the Miami Open in March, most recently suffering an opening-round loss to Ann Li at the Wuhan Open.
