Key Things to Know

Jake Rivard argues Detroit Red Wings forward Carter Mazur faces a pivotal moment to secure his NHL future.

Jake Rivard writes that Detroit Red Wings forward Carter Mazur is at a critical juncture in his NHL career due to injuries and diminishing ice time. Rivard notes that Detroit's 11-forward deployment has further limited Mazur's opportunities, warning that the 24-year-old forward risks being placed on waivers if he fails to solidify his roster spot against competition like Sheldon Dries and the injured Mason Appleton.
