Haas boss Ayao Komatsu has dismissed the suggestion that his squad have become a "Ferrari B-team" after they confirmed the signing of a second driver from the Italian outfit's academy.

Haas team principal Ayao Komatsu has rejected suggestions that the squad has become a "Ferrari B-team" after signing Ferrari Driver Academy member Rafael Camara for 2027. The 21-year-old Brazilian agreed to a multi-year contract and is set to partner fellow Ferrari junior Oliver Bearman, who is expected to stay for a third campaign. Komatsu insisted that Haas chose both drivers independently without any pressure or obligation from Ferrari.
Komatsu also addressed potential rivalry between the drivers, stating he is unconcerned about internal friction as both pursue future opportunities at Ferrari. The team principal emphasized that he and team owner Gene Haas retain complete control over driver choices despite Ferrari supplying power units and technical components.
