‘I am telling you the truth’ – Carrick on Martinez fallout

Manchester United head coach Michael Carrick stated that his squad has not been affected by Lisandro Martinez's recent public outburst against the club hierarchy. Martinez apologized for the timing of his comments following a 2-0 Champions League loss to Atletico Madrid, which drew criticism from pundits including Wayne Rooney and Roy Keane. Carrick dismissed external criticism and confirmed Martinez will be part of the squad for Sunday's Premier League fixture against Leeds United.

Carrick defended director of football Jason Wilcox, emphasizing collective responsibility as United attempt to snap a five-match winless streak. The manager also addressed team injuries, confirming striker Benjamin Sesko remains sidelined following a recurring shin injury with no current timetable for his return.
