Midfielder Alex Mowatt was absent from Derby County's squad for their match against Stoke City as the club sought their first home win of the season. Mowatt had featured in Derby's previous two fixtures against Wrexham and Queens Park Rangers, but he has now added to an extensive injury crisis facing the team.
Derby currently has ten players sidelined, with eight defensive injuries forcing manager John Eustace to start Ryan Nyambe alongside Dion Sanderson in central defense. Defenders Matt Clarke, Eiran Cashin, and Sondre Langas remain unavailable, prompting the club to sign free agent Jack Robinson on a three-month contract to help address the shortage.
