Dallas Mavericks center Dereck Lively is sponsoring $10,000 worth of pet adoption fees on Sunday at the Jan Rees-Jones Animal Care Center in Dallas. Starting at noon at the SPCA of Texas facility, the initiative covers all adoption fees for prospective pet owners at no personal cost.
The event aims to relieve pressure on local shelters, following reports that Dallas Animal Services was operating over capacity amid stray animal issues in the city. Lively previously partnered with the nonprofit Undue Medical Debt to donate funds for every blocked shot he records.
