Paris Saint-Germain manager Luis Enrique has decided to rest team captain Marquinhos for the Ligue 1 trip to face Strasbourg. The defender was omitted from the traveling squad as part of an ongoing rotation strategy to maintain squad fitness throughout the season. PSG previously utilized this approach with Ousmane Dembele and Nuno Mendes.
With the 32-year-old Brazilian sidelined, Will Pacho is set to start in central defense. Ilya Zabarnyi is expected to partner him, though Lucas Hernandez remains another central defensive option. The match presents an opportunity for Zabarnyi to prove himself following a shaky debut season, while PSG plan for the future.
