Delhi Capitals announced former Sri Lanka pacer Chaminda Vaas as their fast-bowling coach for the 2027 Indian Premier League on Saturday, October 17, 2026. Vaas joins a coaching setup that features head coach Sourav Ganguly and assistant coach Yuvraj Singh. Meanwhile, former India leg-spinner Amit Mishra is expected to be named the franchise's spin-bowling coach later in the week.
Vaas, who replaces Munaf Patel, takes on his first coaching role in the IPL after previously winning the 2009 title with Deccan Chargers. Mishra brings extensive IPL experience, having made 162 appearances across four franchises.
