The Broncos have lost a pivotal figure in the franchise’s history.

Former Denver Broncos general manager John Beake has passed away at the age of 87. Beake spent over two decades with the Broncos organization, serving as general manager for 14 years and guiding the team to five Super Bowl appearances, including victories in Super Bowl XXXII and XXXIII.
During his 22-year tenure with Denver starting in 1979, Beake helped facilitate the 1983 trade for Hall of Fame quarterback John Elway. Earlier in his career, he coached for the Kansas City Chiefs and New Orleans Saints under Hank Stram, winning Super Bowl IV, and later held executive positions within the NFL league office.
