The Philadelphia Eagles have placed quarterback Jalen Hurts on injured reserve due to a blood clot, ruling him out for at least four weeks. Hurts will miss the upcoming Week 9 matchup against the New York Giants. While he is eligible to return after the Eagles' Week 11 bye, reports indicate he is considered sidelined indefinitely as medical staff evaluate the issue.
The blood clot developed after Hurts was cleated earlier in the season, and recent tests showed the clot had moved. ESPN reports that treatment could involve blood thinners lasting from six weeks to three months, which could potentially end his season. The setback comes as the 2-3 Eagles trail the first-place Giants in the division.
