Gasperini: ‘No doubt Roma would respond, devastating loss to Real Madrid’

Roma manager Gian Piero Gasperini stated he had no doubts his team would respond following a devastating 4-3 Champions League loss to Real Madrid, as Roma defeated Genoa 2-0 on Saturday. Second-half goals from Santiago Castro and youth player Emanuele Lulli secured the Serie A victory at the Stadio Olimpico. The result marked Gasperini's 300th career Serie A win.

Roma entered the match missing several key players through injuries and suspension, leading Gasperini to make seven changes to his starting lineup. Gasperini praised his young squad's resilience after having conceded three late corner-kick goals against Real Madrid. Roma next face Slovan Bratislava in the Champions League before visiting Napoli in league action.
