As expected, the majority of the NBA teams made their roster cuts on Saturday and didn’t wait until Monday’s deadline to set their regular season rosters. Completing those moves on Saturday will ensure the players on non-guaranteed contracts clear waivers…

Following Saturday's wave of cuts across the NBA, 25 of the league's 30 teams currently comply with regular season roster limits ahead of Monday's deadline. Clubs conducted the majority of their releases over the weekend to ensure non-guaranteed players cleared waivers before the regular season begins. Five teams—the Mavericks, Rockets, Lakers, Grizzlies, and Bucks—still carry surplus players on standard contracts and must execute trades or waivers to reach compliance.
Several compliant franchises, including the Cavaliers, Pacers, and 76ers, remain at 14 standard players due to hard cap constraints or luxury tax concerns. Among non-compliant teams, the Lakers reportedly sought trades for Dalton Knecht, while the Grizzlies and Bucks face potential contract releases if they cannot find trade partners for players such as Kris Murray, Micah Peavy, Caris LeVert, or Jericho Sims.
