Emiliano Martinez has said he will return to action “in a few weeks” after sustaining an injury during Chelsea’s 2-0 win over Everton on Saturday.

Chelsea goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez confirmed he underwent successful surgery on a fractured jaw and expects to return "in a few weeks" following an injury suffered during Saturday's 2-0 win over Everton. Martinez was stretchered off in the second half after a head collision with Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite at Hill Dickinson Stadium, leading to Mike Penders making his Premier League debut as his replacement.
Chelsea manager Xabi Alonso confirmed Martinez remained conscious before heading to the hospital, where CT scans and neck evaluations showed no serious complications. The club released a statement confirming the surgery, and the 34-year-old goalkeeper is expected to be sidelined for at least two weeks.
