Philadelphia 76ers star LeBron James was not considered to be the most impactful addition by NBA GMs this offseason.

In the annual NBA GM survey, league executives did not select LeBron James as the single most impactful acquisition for the Philadelphia 76ers ahead of the 2026-2027 season. James tied for the third-most votes alongside Toronto Raptors forward Kawhi Leonard. Meanwhile, fellow Sixers addition Jaylen Brown finished second in the voting, with the Miami Heat's trade acquisition of Giannis Antetokounmpo taking the top spot.
The Sixer Sense writer Justin Grasso argues that Philadelphia and James should not be concerned by the survey results. Grasso notes that James serves as a luxury addition to an already improved roster, asserting that his passing and basketball IQ will elevate the team even if his scoring declines.
