Emiliano Martinez underwent successful minor surgery after his sickening collision with Everton's Jarrad Branthwaite with Chelsea's goalkeeper set for weeks on the sidelines.

Chelsea goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez underwent successful minor surgery for a fractured jaw following a collision with Everton's Jarrad Branthwaite. The injury occurred during the 67th minute of Chelsea's 2-0 victory at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, leading to Martinez being stretchered off and hospitalized. Both Martinez and his wife, Mandinha, confirmed the procedure went well, with the goalkeeper expected to miss several weeks of action.
With Martinez sidelined, 21-year-old Belgian goalkeeper Mike Penders will step into the starting role under manager Xabi Alonso. Penders previously replaced Martinez in the Everton win and is set to start against Tottenham Hotspur. Twenty-three-year-old Teddy Sharman-Lowe will serve as Penders' primary backup during Martinez's recovery period.
