Bayern Munich head coach Vincent Kompany confirmed he is feeling better after battling a viral infection that affected him ahead of Wednesday's Champions League match against Arsenal. Kompany had experienced restricted movement due to the illness aggravating an old hip injury during a 6-1 win over RB Leipzig, sparking speculation that assistant Aaron Danks might have had to lead the team from the touchline.
Kompany recovered in time to oversee Bayern's 2-2 draw with the Premier League champions. Speaking in his post-match press conference, the manager explained that he had pushed himself too hard initially, admitting his body forced him to pause, but reaffirmed that his recovery allowed him to return to the technical area.
