Galatasaray boss Fatih Demireli has acknowledged and opened up on the club's interest in VfB Stuttgart duo Bilal El Khannouss and Ermedin Demirovic over the summer.
Galatasaray director of development Fatih Demireli has confirmed that the club pursued VfB Stuttgart players Bilal El Khannouss and Ermedin Demirovic during the summer transfer window. Speaking to Kicker, Demireli revealed that the Turkish club held positive discussions with attacking midfielder El Khannouss and his representatives before choosing to sign Aleksey Batrakov instead.
Demireli explained that squad regulations in Turkey and shifting transfer window opportunities also led Galatasaray to explore alternative options to striker Demirovic. Both players ultimately remained with Stuttgart, who are scheduled to play Galatasaray in Turkey in the Champions League on Tuesday.
