Germany’s goalkeeper hierarchy revealed

Germany national team coach Jürgen Klopp has named a 44-player pool across two squads for four upcoming UEFA Nations League fixtures. Following the confirmation of Ajax goalkeeper Marc-André ter Stegen as the team's new first-choice goalkeeper, German publication Bild has reportedly revealed the rest of the national team's goalkeeping hierarchy.

According to the report, FC Bayern goalkeeper Jonas Urbig is currently second in the pecking order, while Besiktas shot-stopper Alexander Nübel is third. Because ter Stegen and Urbig are named in different squads, ter Stegen is expected to play the first two matches, with Urbig potentially featuring in the final two.
