The likes of Maurice Krattenmacher were among the FC Bayern academy players who were sold last summer, helping the reigning Bundesliga champions to extract some extra revenue.

Bayern Munich honorary president Uli Hoeness told Kicker that he is very pleased with the revenue raised from selling campus players last summer. Describing the period as the "summer of the century," Hoeness noted that sales, including the departure of academy talent Maurice Krattenmacher, helped ease the financial strain on the club's first-team budget.
Hoeness emphasized that while the resulting income is a welcome side effect, the primary goal remains developing talent for Bayern's own first team. He noted the academy has long paid for itself and expressed confidence it will continue developing top prospects, pointing to emerging players like Aleksandar Pavlovic and Lennart Karl.
