The FC Bayern head coach has come to his player's defense amid some minor criticism from two of German football's greatest ever shot-stoppers.

Bayern Munich head coach Vincent Kompany has defended goalkeeper Jonas Urbig following critical remarks from former German internationals Oliver Kahn and Jens Lehmann. Speaking on a Sky talk show, Kahn and Lehmann questioned whether the 23-year-old possesses the qualities required to serve as Bayern's first-choice shot-stopper.
Addressing the comments ahead of Bayern's match against RB Leipzig, Kompany emphasized that the club has maintained a steady developmental plan for Urbig since signing him from FC Köln. Kompany also highlighted Manuel Neuer's crucial mentorship role in supporting Urbig's progression.
