Jay Stansfield joined Birmingham City in a blockbusting transfer two years ago and the CIES Football Observatory have estimated his current fee

Brian Dick argues that Jay Stansfield's true worth to Birmingham City exceeds recent valuation figures from the CIES Football Observatory. The research group estimated the 23-year-old striker's market value at between £13.6 million and £16.1 million, identifying him as the club's most valuable asset ahead of Jhon Solis, August Priske, and Carlos Vicente.
Stansfield joined Birmingham permanently from Fulham in August 2024 for an estimated £14 million to £15 million following a successful loan spell. Despite Stansfield scoring only one goal in eight Championship matches this season, Dick maintains that his tactical importance and symbolic status make him far more valuable to Birmingham City than his estimated transfer fee.
