Burnley Women claim hard-earned Bristol City point – but remain winless

Burnley Women played out a 0-0 draw against Bristol City in front of 578 fans at Turf Moor on Saturday. Managed by Jackie Bachteler, the Clarets earned a hard-fought point but remain winless in their inaugural WSL2 campaign, sitting 10th in the table after scoring just one goal in their first four matches.

Goalkeeper Jackie Burns and defender Deanna Cooper made vital interventions to keep Bristol City at bay, while Charley Docherty and substitute Charlie Wellings had scoring chances for Burnley. New signings Charlie Wellings and Leah Galton both made their debuts as Burnley pushed for a late winner.
