Mature beyond his years on the field, Cavan Sullivan looks and sounds like just about any other 17-year-old off it.

Cavan Sullivan became the youngest goalscorer in USMNT history at age 17 during a 3-0 victory over Mexico at State Farm Stadium. Sullivan forced an errant pass from Mexico goalkeeper Jose Rangel through his defensive pressing before lofting the ball into the net during his 65 minutes on the field. The result marked the United States' largest margin of victory against Mexico in over three decades.
United States head coach Mauricio Pochettino praised Sullivan's defensive work ethic and recovery abilities alongside his offensive quality, while captain Tyler Adams noted Sullivan's readiness for international competition. Sullivan, a Philadelphia Union academy graduate with an agreement in place to join Manchester City next year, will travel with the USMNT to face Canada in Minnesota.
