Blackburn Rovers saw Valentin Joseph depart for Brighton & Hove Albion in the summer, and the forward has now explained why.

Eighteen-year-old striker Valentin Joseph has revealed he departed Blackburn Rovers for Brighton & Hove Albion because he believed the Premier League side offered a superior development pathway. Joseph, who completed a permanent summer transfer in August, explained to The Argus that he felt he could improve more technically with the Seagulls while seeking to become a professional footballer.
Since joining Brighton, the forward has made five appearances for the Under-21 squad, scoring on his first start during a 5-1 defeat to Liverpool on September 19. The72 argues that Blackburn should not worry about Joseph's departure, maintaining that the Championship club continues to boast a strong reputation for promoting academy talent into the first team.
