Middlesbrough's Under-21s beat Juventus in the Premier League International Cup at the Riverside on Wednesday night
Former non-league forward Layton Campbell scored a late winning goal as Middlesbrough Under-21s defeated Juventus in the Premier League International Cup at the Riverside Stadium. The 19-year-old came off the bench to secure the victory, putting Mark Tinkler's side on four points from two matches and lifting them to the top of Group A.
Tinkler's lineup featured Cruz Ibeh, Law McCabe, and defender James Wilson, who impressed after returning from a lengthy injury. Tinkler praised the team's defensive work rate and resilience against a physical Juventus side, highlighting Campbell's ongoing progress following his signing from Whitley Bay.
