Sontje Hansen has made himself unavailable for Curacao

Middlesbrough forward Hansen has reportedly told Curacao that he will not play for the national team while manager Dick Advocaat remains in charge. Hansen, currently on loan at Turkish club Gaziantep, was frustrated with his lack of playing time during the World Cup, where he was substituted at half-time against Germany and did not play again. Advocaat responded bluntly to the player's stance, stating that Hansen should have worked harder if he felt he deserved more minutes.
The 24-year-old forward previously struggled for playing time at Middlesbrough, making 17 appearances mostly from the bench under managers Rob Edwards and Kim Hellberg. Hansen joined Gaziantep this summer on a season-long loan deal that includes an option to make the move permanent, and he has since made four appearances for the Turkish side.
