‘Surely’: Reporter makes bold prediction regarding ‘outstanding’ Middlesbrough summer recruit

BBC reporter Adam Cottier has predicted that Middlesbrough striker Will Lankshear will earn an England senior call-up in the near future following his prolific start to the season. The 21-year-old forward joined Boro permanently from Tottenham Hotspur during the summer transfer window on a five-year contract running through June 2031, having already scored 15 goals across 16 appearances in all competitions.

Lankshear's scoring form has helped manager Kim Hellberg's side climb to the top of the Championship table through 13 matches following a 3-0 victory over Charlton Athletic. The former Tottenham, West Brom, and Oxford United striker has stepped in as Middlesbrough's primary attacking option after the club suffered defeat in the previous campaign's play-off final.
