Middlesbrough couldn't break down a resilient Watford defence on Saturday afternoon as a Will Lankshear-shorn Boro failed to find the net for the second time in four days…

Middlesbrough manager Kim Hellberg praised his side's dominant performance and pressing despite being held to a 0-0 draw away at Watford. Boro controlled 74 percent possession at Vicarage Road following a midweek defeat to Wrexham, but missed chances and saves by Watford goalkeeper Federico Ravaglia saw them concede top spot in the Championship to Birmingham City on goal difference.
Without 15-goal top scorer Will Lankshear due to a hamstring injury, Boro created several opportunities through Jeremy Sarmiento and Callum Brittain, while Sam Byram struck the post. Hellberg expressed sadness over the dropped points but commended the tactical response, hoping Lankshear will recover after the international break.
