Premier League pushing to agree deal that would see all EFL clubs paid more

The Premier League is pushing for a 10-year agreement with the English Football League to increase solidarity payments to all 72 lower-league clubs. Under the proposal presented to EFL clubs, the Premier League would provide an extra £81 million during the current season and an additional £163 million annually by the 2028-29 campaign.

In exchange, the deal would require new cost control agreements and reduce Carabao Cup semi-finals to a single leg. The leagues would also need to reach a joint stance on the Saturday 3 p.m. blackout legislation before the next domestic television rights tender.
