Bae Junho stars in turnaround to go 90 minutes away from military service exemption

Stoke City playmaker Bae Junho scored an 82nd-minute winning header to lead South Korea under-23s to a 2-1 comeback victory over China in the Asian Games semi-final in Japan. Wang Yidong opened the scoring for China before Lee Young-jun leveled for South Korea, setting up Junho's decisive late goal from an Eom Ji-seong cross.

The victory places South Korea into Saturday's final against either Uzbekistan or Japan in Toyota, leaving Junho one win away from a gold medal. Winning gold grants the squad an exemption from compulsory South Korean military service. Junho is set to return to Stoke City for their Championship fixture against Bolton Wanderers on October 10.
