Brayann Pereira’s dismissal at Derby led to Nolan Galves limping off at Pride Park with what turned out to be a season-ending injury. Now the former must step up to the plate.

West Bromwich Albion need right-back Brayann Pereira to step up following a season-ending knee injury to Nolan Galves. Galves suffered the injury during a 1-0 win at Derby County after coming on as a substitute for Pereira, who had been sent off just 34 minutes into his Albion debut. The club confirmed Galves required surgery and will miss the remainder of the campaign.
Express and Star argues that Pereira must now adjust quickly and take command of the position under manager James Morrison. The 23-year-old French full-back joined from NEC Nijmegen on deadline day for roughly £1 million. With alternative right-back options out on loan until January, Morrison backed Pereira to learn from his debut dismissal.
