Nuno Espirito Santo may be helpless to prevent West Ham United slipping seven points off the Championship summit before they take on newly-promoted Lincoln City…

West Ham United manager Nuno Espirito Santo offered a realistic assessment of the Championship's competitiveness ahead of their match against Lincoln City. Dan Owen reports that West Ham could fall seven points behind leaders Swansea City following a home draw with Queens Park Rangers. With a current win rate of just 44 percent, the Hammers are on track for 81 points, well short of their internal 92-point target.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Nuno warned supporters that the league possesses far more quality and talent than when his Wolverhampton Wanderers side won 99 points in 2018. Despite the recent dip in form, West Ham remain undefeated in league action since August, starting with a 4-2 victory over Wolves on September 1.
