Wolverhampton Wanderers attacking midfielder Fer López has returned early from Spain Under-21 duty after suffering physical discomfort. The 22-year-old was forced to withdraw from the national squad, missing matches against San Marino and Romania, and will now be assessed by the club's medical staff ahead of Saturday's Championship meeting with Middlesbrough.
López has been a key figure for manager César Peixoto this season, recording five goals and two assists across nine appearances following his loan return from Celta Vigo. With Raúl Jiménez also managing a knee issue, Wolves are hoping the Spaniard's early withdrawal is purely precautionary ahead of a demanding run of fixtures.
