West Ham have sacked Nuno Espirito Santo after back-to-back home defeats left the club eighth in the Championship.
West Ham United have sacked head coach Nuno Espirito Santo following a 3-1 home defeat to West Brom. The decision came after back-to-back home losses left the club sitting eighth in the Championship, six points behind league leaders Middlesbrough. Assistant head coach Rui Pedro Silva and goalkeeper coach Rui Barbosa have also left the club.
The Hammers had retained Nuno in May despite their relegation from the Premier League last season. Mark Noble, Steve Potts, and Gerard Prenderville will take temporary charge of the first team ahead of their upcoming Championship match against Cardiff City while the recruitment process for a permanent successor begins.
