MARIA FRANCIS-JONES says Wrexham have set their stall out early in how they want to attack the current season.
Wrexham Women continued their title defense in the Adran Premier with an 8-1 victory against Briton Ferry Llansawel. Natasha Thomas opened the scoring in the 13th minute after following up a saved effort from Faye Knox, and Katie Barker added a second goal 10 minutes later. The result preserved a perfect start to the campaign for the reigning champions, making it four wins from four matches.
Briton Ferry Llansawel responded through Katy Hosford at the half-hour mark against goalkeeper Liz Craven, who was making her 50th appearance. Barker quickly restored the two-goal cushion via a 35th-minute penalty, before Lili Jones scored prior to halftime. Maria Francis-Jones and Thomas both found the net early in the second half as Wrexham pulled away.
