‘Almost guaranteed’: Ex-Wrexham man drops Sheffield Wednesday promotion verdict

Former Wrexham defender Ben Tozer believes Sheffield Wednesday are "almost guaranteed" to reach the League One play-offs following the appointment of Dave Challinor as head coach. Challinor replaces Henrik Pedersen, who was dismissed following consecutive defeats against Notts County and Doncaster Rovers. Tozer expressed confidence on The Essential EFL Podcast that the Owls have the quality to contend for the top positions.

Sheffield Wednesday currently sit ninth in the League One table, nine points behind the league leaders with a game in hand. Challinor, who previously guided Stockport County from the National League to League One, begins his tenure with an FA Cup fixture against Oldham Athletic before a league clash with Plymouth Argyle.
